Info about RYA Practical Weeks and Weekends
5 Day RYA practical week and weekends.
These 5 days are official RYA sailing courses which take place on our school yachts for those wishing to gain RYA qualifications. As we are sailing around the Solent to a different marina, harbour, or anchorage each night and sleeping onboard in cabins, you will be learning and practicing the skills required to sail safely and take command of a yacht, or become a competent member of crew.
From our base in Port Solent, we run the full range of RYA Practical Sailing Courses in and around the Solent on the South Coast.
The Solent is recognised as the hub of the UK's yachting community. You will get expert instruction from our great team of sail training specialists, on a course delivered to allow you to build your level of sailing expertise and confidence at your own pace.
This in turn gives you direct access to one of the most exciting and exhilarating watersports there is.
RYA Practical Sailing Courses last for five days, and we offer these in different formats:
- Over two weekends. One of these is a normal two-day weekend and the other is a long weekend including a Friday or a Monday.
- Over five consecutive weekdays, Monday to Friday.

All food, marina fees and also safety equipment and tuition.
Oil Skins and other wet weather gear can be hired from us for the duration of our course. Please ask us for details when you make your booking.
