The Ocean Classroom

An Ocean of possible learning experiences

How to bring your classroom to life

Despite the fact that the ocean covers over 2/3 of our planet we know very little about it. We probably know more about outer space than we know about this valuable and important resource.

Everyday our knowledge of this resource is growing and our understanding of the affects of global warming and micro  plastics increases our learning opportunities to inspire the next generation.

At Quaystage Training we also believe that the ocean is a valuable resource to the education and development of young people.  Sail Training is an adventure learning programme conducted at sea, and has a number of unique characteristics that help make it a successfull personal development experience for those who participate.

The impact of Education@Sea experiences

Imagine then, what can be accomplished by engaging and connecting students and teachers with the physical teaching inspect that sail training can provide, and give them experiences that they can then pass onto their students and peer groups.

There are direct links which can be made with the curriculum between formal education and a sail training adventure learning programmes, such as the ones which at Quaystage Training we bring into our  daily delivery of our 'Education@Sea'  programmes.

  • “Thinking about how to create that kind of environment within the classroom is amazing”
  • “Most of the subjects [in school] can link with this type of activity”

Next step to becoming a Quaystage partner school...

At Quaystage we just relish the opportunity to discuss how our educational programmes could would within your school, and share ideas how we could incorporate delivery into the schools vision and educational parameters.

We would be happy to attend a meeting with the school's head teachers,  governors,  or heads of department and even hold an assembly or lessons for the students themselves.

We accept every invitation to show you our enthusiasm for benefits that outdoor education learning platforms and sail training have on the development of young people.

Please consider becoming one of our 'Partner schools'
