Which RYA Course?
We run all the RYA Sailing Courses on modern yachts and our instructors and examiners are the chosen for their patience and excellent reputations and are proud of our reputation for running courses for both Young People and Adults.
If you have never sailed before the best course to start with is an RYA Start Yachting Course where you can start learning from the basics. This course enables you to “Try it and See” if you like sailing
Beginners can take 5 day RYA Competent Crew, which can also be conducted on 2 weekends ( 1 x 2day and 1 x 3 day) or add the 3 day weekend to their start yachting experience.
The next step is the RYA Day Skipper Theory, followed by the RYA Day Skipper Practical Sailing Course which prepares you to take a boat out on your own as Skipper and gives you the confidence to charter a boat. This course is usually 5 days but can also be completed over 2 weekends (1 x 2 day and 1 x 3 Day)
Having conquered day skipper the you can then complete your RYA Coastal Skipper Practical Course , giving you that extra confidence for passage making and night sailing.
You can then do RYA Coastal and Yachtmaster Theory, and then after building up your mile with one of our Mile Builders in your logbook you can go for the RYA Coastal Yachtmaster Preparation and Exam Course, before moving to enhance all your skills with a little more experience to undertake the RYA Yachtmaster Coastal/ RYA Yachtmaster Offshore Preparation and Exam Course commercially endorsing it to work in the industry as a skipper or as cruising Instructor. Your next step, is to study the art of astro navigation in the RYA Ocean Yachtmaster Theory course to enable you to truly, explore, sail, and discover!
