RYA Radar Course

This one day course is aimed at users of radar sets aboard small craft. The use of radar is becoming increasingly common as prices of radar sets continue to fall. However, as with most modern equipment the best results are only possible when you know how to correctly utilise all the functions available. The course begins by looking at the way radar actually works and how the various functions affect the output you see.

Other subjects covered include Target definition, radar reflectors, types of radar display, radar plotting and the use of radar for general navigation and collision avoidance.
